Thoughts Into Action
I have always wanted to devote some time to doing social work and helping the needy, especially working with children and/or teenagers. However, the only regular “good deed” I seem to have been doing was blood donation, which to me, at the same time is beneficial to myself. As such, it is not much of a good deed but rather mutual benefits.
Recently I have received an e-mail from Ananta, a friend who resides in Nepal. I met Ananta during my trekking in Nepal. He was then working with ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) in Jomsom, a lovely place and the air is fresh as it is located some 2,700m above sea level.
Apparently, Ananta has been doing more social work and is involved with Naya Bihani Basti, a home providing shelter, food, health services and education/job & skills training to underprivileged children, youth and the aged. He has written to ask if I am interested to be involved as they are looking for a Country Ambassador.
I readily agreed, although I still do not know what my role and level of involvement would be. However, I am expecting to hear from Ananta in about a week or so.
I want to finally put my thoughts to action!
